Conveyancing Team Lead
South Wales (Hybrid – 4 Days Office / 1 Day WFH) · Full-time, Permanent · £55,000 per annum + Performance-Based Bonus Structure
A forward-thinking South Wales law firm is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Lead to manage a growing residential property team, drive local business development, and shape regional growth strategy.
We are seeking an experienced Conveyancing Lead to take ownership of a growing residential property team within an established, forward-thinking South Wales law firm.
This role is ideal for a senior practitioner who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and commercial acumen. You will manage a high-volume residential caseload while taking a proactive role in local business development, agency relationship management, and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Caseload Management: Build, run, and manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from inception through to completion.
Business Development: Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships with local estate agents, mortgage brokers, and professional referrers (existing local introducer contacts are highly advantageous).
Marketing & Growth: Lead local business development initiatives to raise the firm's regional profile and drive new instruction volumes.
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Manage, train, and support junior fee earners and support staff within the department.
Strategic Input: Work closely with the Head of Residential Conveyancing and the Managing Director to design and execute regional growth and performance strategies across the practice.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Professional Qualification: Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx), or Licensed Conveyancer (CLC).
Experience: Minimum 4+ years PQE with proven supervisory or team management experience within a conveyancing department.
Technical Mastery: Deep, unsupervised knowledge across all aspects of residential conveyancing, including:
Freehold & Leasehold sales and purchases
New builds & unregistered land
Transfers of equity, shared ownership, and shared equity schemes
Complex remortgages
Operational Discipline: Proven ability to handle volume while delivering exceptional client care, maintain excellent communication, and achieve consistent billing targets.
Working Pattern: Office-based with a flexible hybrid arrangement (4 days office-based / 1 day working from home).
Package & Benefits
Base Salary: £55,000 per year
